The cross-linked pipe GRIPLEX PEX is manufactured by extrusion based on High density polyethylene grafted to silane. The pipe is red ocher; the color gives it a perfect opacity which restrains the growth of algae inside the pipe. The next step is the cross linking of the pipe according to method "b" which consists on storing the extruded pipes in a cross slinking box at 85°C.
This starts a chemical reaction that strengthens the bonds between the carbon atoms of the polyethylene molecules. The cross linking makes the pipe resistant to high temperatures and pressures unlike normal polyethylene pipes.

The cross-linked pipe GRIFLEX PEX is protected by an EVOH layer as an oxygen barrier commonly called BAO. This layer makes it impermeable to oxygen according to the German standards DIN 4726, thus avoiding the problems of sludge formation and corrosion in metal components in heating systems.
The cross-linked pipe GRIFLEX PEX is marketed in Morocco with oxygen barrier which makes it the national leader in terms of quality.
